National Robotics Competition at Sungai Long Campus

The National Robotics Competition (Selangor State Level), organised by the Ministry of Education and SASBADI, and managed by the Selangor Education Department in cooperation with UTAR, was held at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The event, held from 21 to 22 August 2023, saw the participation of both primary and secondary school students. The main purpose of this competition was to identify the winning team that would represent the Selangor state in the upcoming national-level robotics competition.

The competition was divided into two main categories: primary school and secondary school. Throughout the competition, five distinct programmes were organised: Robomission (Pro & Rookie), Robomission Jr., Design and Innovation STEM, Future Innovators and Robosports.

The panel of judges included academics from Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Department of Mechanical and Material Engineering (DMME) Ts Dr Lee Hwang Sheng and Ir Dr Ting Chen Hunt, and LKC FES Department of Mechatronics and BioMedical Engineering (DMBE) academics Dr Shalini Darmaraju, Ir Dr Danny Ng Wee Kiat and Ts Dr Lee Jer Vui.

The prize-giving ceremony and the closure of the event were graced by the presence of LKC FES Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Yap Wun She and LKC FES Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee.
