8TV Newscasters Owen Yap, Tan Ley Teng and Louis Loh
were present at Sungai Long Campus on 4 April 2024 to promote the 8TV
Newscaster Camp which will be held on 20 and 21 April 2024 at the Sri Pentas
Broadcasting Center in Bandar Utama.
Organised by 8TV, with Eight FM serving as the
designated radio station, the camp garnered substantial support from
ViralCham, Rojaklah, TanTanNews, and the educational platform HighSchool.my,
all of whom served as media partners.

The event began with Tan sharing her career
experiences, including the challenges and excitement during the interviews
with ministers and famous personalities. Her tales grabbed the audience’s
attention and gave valuable insights into broadcast journalism. After Tan’s
captivating session, Louis Loh shared his journey of becoming a news anchor,
adding another layer of insight. Besides, participants were immersed in a
series of tongue-twister activities meticulously designed to hone their
reading, speaking, and comprehension skills.

Next, Owen Yap shared his journey of becoming an 8TV
newscaster. He talked about his experience in managing radio stations and
delivering engaging news reports. His session offered practical advice for
aspiring broadcasters. The event ended with an energetic Q&A session, where
participants learned from experienced professionals.

Beyond focusing solely on news and programme areas,
the 8TV Newscaster Camp aims to delve into radio broadcasting and content
creation, broadening participants’ skill sets and knowledge base.
