Beijing Jiaotong University staff and students visit UTAR

On 30 July 2024, UTAR welcomed visitors from its partner university, Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) at its Sungai Long Campus. The visit aimed to facilitate the exchange of information between the two universities and explore opportunities for further academic and curriculum collaboration.

The delegation from BJTU included Office of the School of Civil Engineering Director Ms Qin Le Le, Contract Management Office of Career and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center Director Ms Wen Xin, College of International Education International Student Advisor Ms Zhang Min Zi and School Youth League Committee Assistant Secretary Mr Zhang Ai Bin along with 20 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

They were warmly welcomed by UTAR Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Deputy Dean Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee, Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research Director Prof Ts Dr Lim Yang Mooi, Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn, Department of Alumni Relations and Placement Assistant Manager Mr Yan Yew Ken and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Wang Yiling.

The visit featured an engaging sharing session where Dr Lai and Ms Qin introduced their respective universities. Additional presentations by Dr Lee, Prof Lim, and Mr Yan covered various aspects of UTAR’s research, employment, and student development initiatives. Joyce Ling, a Malaysian undergraduate student at BJTU, was also invited to share her academic experience in China. The visit concluded with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session.
