Eighteen students and three teachers from Qiao Sheng High School, China and San Min Secondary School (SUWA), Teluk Intan, participated in an English Language Workshop on 25 July 2024, organised by the Centre for Extension Education (CEE). Eleven students from Deh Yu College of Nursing and Health, Taiwan also participated in the dynamic and engaging workshop.

The English Language workshop was designed to provide participants with a stimulating and enjoyable environment to enhance their English language skills, deepen cultural understanding, and improve their language fluency. CEE English Unit Head Ms Mohanambikay and Ms Chai Wei See from the Division of Programme Promotion welcomed the students and shared a brief overview of the programmes and courses offered by UTAR.

The most anticipated segment of the programme was the station games. CEE English instructor Ms Elene Cheong Yong Yong, briefed the students on the procedures and divided them into six groups. The games were designed to showcase the engaging and captivating elements of the English language. These activities not only encouraged participants to actively use and practice English in a supportive and interactive setting but also contributed to the development of soft skills among the UTAR student helpers.

The second part of the camp concluded with the announcement of the winning teams and a round of enthusiastic applause. The final segment of the English Language Camp was a campus tour led by Ms Chai. Before embarking on the tour, students enjoyed refreshments to recharge after the engaging and lively activities.

To conclude, every moment of this immersive experience helped students grow their language skills and reach their full potential. With engaging activities and a supportive environment, the English Language workshop assisted in building their confidence and deepening their connection with English. Students had the chance to experience interactive learning that enhanced their understanding of the language, supporting their journey to becoming proficient English users.
