UTAR Division of Human Resource (DHR) successfully hosted a team-building
programme titled “Team Power 2024” from 6 to 7 July 2024 at Amverton
Heritage Resort, Melaka. The event focused on tackling communication issues,
promoting teamwork, boosting staff motivation, and emphasising the
significance of creating a supportive and dynamic workplace.
The team-building programme saw the participation of 30 staff members from
various departments, including DHR Director Ms Marchie Lim Pin Sim, Deputy
Director Mr We Chin Yong and Head of DHR Kampar Campus Ms H'ng May Eng.
Over the course of the two-day programme, participants engaged in an array
of meticulously designed indoor and outdoor activities. These activities
were crafted to test their problem-solving skills, spark creativity, and
strengthen interpersonal bonds. The activities also facilitated a deeper
understanding among staff, promoting increased levels of teamwork.
The indoor activities were tailored to cultivate a strong team culture.
Through interactive sessions and collaborative tasks, participants learned
the value of effective communication and teamwork, setting a solid
foundation for a cohesive work environment. Outdoor activities aimed to
invigorate team spirit and build camaraderie. From team challenges to
problem-solving exercises, these activities provided a platform for staff to
connect on a personal level, reinforcing the importance of unity and mutual
support in the workplace.
The Team Power 2024 programme illustrated UTAR’s commitment to creating a
supportive and collaborative workplace culture. The event proved to be a
resounding success, fulfilling its goals of enhancing communication,
fostering collaboration, and boosting the morale of all participants.
