UTAR Alumni Dinner 2024

The UTAR Alumni Annual Dinner 2024 was held at Eastin Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 16 November 2024. With nearly 180 guests in attendance, the event provided alumni with an excellent opportunity to expand their professional networks, reconnect with university friends and strengthen their bonds through the sharing of experiences and knowledge. Besides keeping alumni connected with the university, the event also served to update them on the latest developments and initiatives at the university.

Organised by the Department of Alumni Relations and Placement, the event was attended by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong, Vice President for R&D and Commercialisation Prof Ts Dr Faidz bin Abd Rahman, Registrar Ms Loh Siaw Yien, UTAR Alumni Association of Malaysia President Mr Simon Chong Weng Yeap, M. Prof Dato’ Ewe shared, “This evening is not only a chance to celebrate the successes of our alumni but also to honour the strong connections and friendships that began at UTAR. Each of you is a vital part of our story, representing UTAR’s values through your accomplishments and commitment to excellence. Together, let us look forward to many more years of success, growth, and friendship.”

Mr Simon Chong conveyed, “Tonight is not just a reunion, but a reaffirmation of the strength and commitment within our alumni community, a testament to the transformative power of education and the lifelong connections we have built together. In conjunction with the alumni dinner, the UTAR Outstanding Alumni Award was also presented to several outstanding alumni to recognise their achievements and contributions in the various fields of expertise and professions in the employment industry.

In addition, the UTAR Alumni Badminton Friendly Game was held earlier in the morning at the Long River Sports Centre in Bandar Sungai Long. A total of 14 alumni and 14 UTAR staff members took part in the friendly badminton game, making it the perfect chance to relax, bond, and enjoy some good company.
