The collaboration with Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation to foster talents and facilitate global talent development through the University Alliance in Talent Education Development (UAiTED) partnership was substantiated by a signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in November 2024. Signed on behalf of UTAR was President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, accompanied by Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, and Office of International Affairs Deputy Director Assoc Prof Dr Chen, I-Chi.
Joining this partnership were also 16 other local and international educational institutions from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. UAiTED is an alliance of universities for talent education and development with the aim to facilitate cross-regional, multicultural and interdisciplinary global talent development. Activities supporting this collaboration may include sharing sessions, internships, courses, and innovation and entrepreneurship programmes.
The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the UAiTED 2024 Governing Board Meeting at NTNU, Taiwan, an avenue set for all representatives of their respective institutions to discuss the work plans for 2025. Matters discussed included education, internship, innovation competition, industry-academia collaboration and medical and healthcare services, with emphasis on artificial intelligence, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and sustainability.
