UTAR, UTAR Hospital, and LifeCare Diagnostic Medical Centre ink MoU

UTAR, UTAR Hospital, and Life Care Diagnostic Medical Centre Sdn Bhd marked a significant milestone with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing collaboration in healthcare services, education, and research. The MoU exchange took place at the LifeCare Diagnostic Medical Centre in Wisma LifeCare, Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, on 16 December 2024.

The MoU highlighted key initiatives, including joint research projects, staff exchanges through clinical attachments and mutual visits, and student development via industrial study visits, scholarships, and placements at LifeCare Diagnostic Medical Centre and UTAR Hospital. It also focused on skill training for industry workers and the establishment of a mutual patient referral system to provide appropriate care based on medical needs and expertise.

Representing LifeCare Diagnostic Medical Centre were Founder & Managing Director Dr Ong Kee Liang, Directors Ms Ng Sheau Chyn and Dr Alex Leong, Chief Data Officer Mr Siew Jit Ping, TCM Specialist Dr Ngiam Chee Jieh, Business Development Manager Ms Kim Lee Mei and Group Marketing Manager Ms Crystal Chan.

UTAR Hospital was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Prof Dr Lau Hui Ping, while UTAR was represented by Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) Dr Chen I-Chi, Clinical Training Coordinator for TCM Assoc Prof Dr Te Kian Keong, and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Goo Yi Qun.

The event began with a tour of LifeCare’s state-of-the-art medical facilities, showcasing their advanced healthcare services. This was followed by the signing ceremony and a brief discussion to explore future collaborative efforts.
