On 31 January 2024, UTAR STEM Outreach organised an
exhilarating STEM Engagement Day at SMJK Yu Hua, bringing together 146 Form
Three students for a day of immersive learning. The event aimed to spark
curiosity and promote hands-on learning experiences among the students.
The STEM Engagement Day was a testament to the
commitment of UTAR STEM Outreach to make science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics (STEM) subjects more accessible and engaging for students.
The event featured a variety of activities curated by academics from UTAR
Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES). The academics
included Assoc Prof Dr Goh Yong Kheng, Dr Chan Siow Cheng, Dr Hau Lee Cheun,
Ts Dr Lee Jer Vui, Dr Sim Lan Ching, Dr Azlyana binti Ismail and Mr Chong Yu
Zheng.
Among the activities organised were Biomechanics Gait
with G-Walk, Robotic Arm Demonstration – Pick-and-Place Process, Sending
Secret Message and Fruit Battery Experiment.
