The Bodhi Meditation Charity
Foundation (BMCF) presented financial aid to 27 students from UTAR. The
bursary presentation ceremony was held on 1 February 2024 at Sungai Long
Campus.
Present at the ceremony were of
Bodhi Meditation Charity Foundation Chairman Teacher Ling Shan, Bodhi
Meditation Charity Foundation Board of Trustee Teacher Fu Han, BMCF
Committee members, UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, UTAR Vice

Bok Min, M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Dean Prof Dr
Thong Meow Keong, Centre for Foundation Studies (Sungai Long Campus) Deputy

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “I urge you to
embrace this assistance, let it fuel your academic excellence, and build a
brighter future for yourself. As you progress in your future endeavours,
remember the importance of giving back and extending a helping hand to those
in need. My deepest appreciation to Bodhi Meditation Charity Foundation for
their unwavering support in fulfilling our mission of providing quality
education for all.”
Teacher Ling Shan said,
“Congratulations to the recipients as you deserve this financial support. We
wish you a good future. Thanks to UTAR for such collaboration to produce
talents for the future. We strongly believe that students in need of
financial assistance should not be denied a good education; education is the
only way to change their lives for the better. We hope the students will
appreciate this opportunity and bring a positive impact to society.”
During a sharing session, the
recipients shared their gratitude messages and how the bursary had brought
relief to their respective families.

Chak Wen Fang, who is currently
pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Retail Management,
expressed her appreciation for being chosen as one of the bursary
recipients. She shared, “I am thankful for this opportunity. The bursary has
relieved my grandparents’ burdens. It means a great deal to them. I will do
well in my studies and use my best effort to contribute back to society.”
Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)
Accounting student Dang Yun Xin said, “The bursary became a lifeline for my
family, opening doors for me to pursue tertiary studies and personal growth.
I am committed to excelling academically and making a positive impact on
society in the future.”
Kang Song Seng from Bachelor of
Science (Honours) Dietetics said, “This financial support gives me the means
to continue my learning journey with confidence.
It has brought a positive change to my family’s financial situation.
In future, I hope to serve the community by educating the public on the
importance of nutrition to reduce the risk of diseases.”

Yang said, “It gives me great pleasure to accept this UTAR-JinBodhi Bursary.
The UTAR-JinBodhi Bursary has lessened my family’s financial burden, which
allows me to pursue my dream of getting tertiary education. Getting the
bursary has inspired me to put in more effort and strive for outstanding
academic performance.”
P. Liganashwary, who is studying
Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting, said, “This bursary allows me to
focus on my studies without worrying about the financial stress. I’m glad
that the foundation recognised the value of education in transforming lives.
Your investment in my education is an investment in a better life for all.”
Ng Pin Qian from Foundation in
Science shared, “I was overjoyed when I knew I was selected as one of the
recipients to receive the financial support which eased my financial worries
of studying in UTAR. I strongly believe that pursuing tertiary education is
the key to improving my family circumstances. I aspire to be a giver in the
future; giving opportunity and hope to those in need. Helping others is
about action and I believe that even a small action can make a significant
impact.”
