A
memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held between UTAR and
VCG Management Sdn Bhd (Vivahomes Cheras Group) on 19 February 2024 at UTAR
Sungai Long Campus.
The MoU
aimed to promote collaborative research, knowledge exchange, staff exchange,
industrial study visits, student placement, accommodation assistance, and
community engagement projects to enhance learning experiences, professional
development, curriculum development, and societal contribution.
The
signatories were UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and VCG
Management Sdn Bhd Director Mr
Elvyn Lim Sian How. Witnessing the signing
were UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development
Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min and VCG Management Sdn Bhd Branch Director Ms
Rachel Loo Suh Chin.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “This
partnership opens doors for UTAR students to gain first-hand insights into
the professional world and hone their skills for future success through
industrial study visits, internship placements, and employment
opportunities. Such initiatives will provide invaluable practical experience
and career pathways for our students and graduates.”
He concluded, “I believe that
active collaboration between academia and industry will prepare students for
the ever-changing demands of the workforce and drive economic growth. I am
glad that UTAR and VCG Management are committed to actively participating in
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, leveraging our resources
and expertise to make a positive impact on society.”

Mr
Elvyn Lim said, “The purpose
of signing this MoU today is to build a good relationship and partnership
between UTAR and VCG Management Sdn Bhd. The MoU shows collaboration and
cooperation between UTAR and VCG Management Sdn Bhd, which have the same
interests and benefit both parties. My best wish for UTAR is that it will
become the centre of excellent education in Malaysia. Lastly, as UTAR
alumni, I am very proud and happy today, and I hope we can support each
other in our long-term relationship.”
