UTAR and
M2B Services Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on 23 February
2024 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. With the signing of the MoA, both parties
will work together to promote the socioeconomic growth of the villagers from
the Orang Asli community through the “UTAR × Digital Village 365: Program
Transformasi Usahawan” project.
The
signatories were UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and M2B
Services Sdn Bhd Director Mr Lee Swee Yao. Witnessing the signing were UTAR
Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong
Chee Keong and M2B Services Sdn Bhd Director Mr
Mok Yew Keong.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “I express my
sincere gratitude to M2B Sdn Bhd for your unwavering support in making this
initiative a reality. Your dedication to promoting local products and rural
e-commerce has not only contributed to the economic growth but has also
fostered a sense of community and empowerment among those traditionally
underserved.”
He concluded, “As we embark on
this journey together, let us remember that the true measure of success lies
in the positive impact we create in the lives of individuals and
communities. I hope this “UTAR × Digital Village 365” project will exemplify
the power of collaboration and bring about meaningful change in people’s
lives.”

Mr
Lee said, “I believe this programme
will not only bring awareness to the students but also encourage them to
carry forward this initiative and idea when they move to work in the
corporate world in the future.”
He
added, “Let us harness the power of collaboration to create a lasting impact
and positive changes in the community. Other than that, we can provide them
with lasting changes in their lives without depending on the assistance of
the government. We can provide them with an opportunity to gain income and
also sustain their lives by themselves. I would like to extend my sincere
gratitude to UTAR for this partnership and opportunity.”
