UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and
Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min made a trip to the “Jiangxi
Institutions of Higher Education Overseas Exhibition 2023”, which took place
at Wyndham Grand Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur on 14 Dec 2023. Also present with him
were Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) Director Mr Lee Choy Fong,
Division of Community and International Networking (DCInterNet) Senior
Assistant Manager Ms Loi Sien Mun and DCInterNet Assistant Manager Ms Wang
Yiling.
The “Jiangxi Institutions of Higher Education
Overseas Exhibition 2023” which was held from 7 December 2023 to 16 December
2023, was organised by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education and
the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government Foreign Affairs Office in
Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The overseas exhibition featured a total
of 35 colleges and universities from Jiangxi province, along with 76
representatives.
At the event, Prof Goi represented UTAR in signing
three memoranda of understanding (MoU) with three different universities
from Jiangxi, namely Jiangxi Open University, Nanchang Normal University and
Nanchang Hangkong University. The MoUs aimed to lay the foundation for
future international collaborative research projects, joint talent training
programmes, and student mobility programmes.
The team also utilised the opportunity to engage with
other potential partners and strengthen their ties with existing
collaborators from Jiangxi. Meetings with institutions such as Jiangxi
University of Finance and Economics, and Jiangxi Science and Technology
Normal University paved the way for future collaborations in areas ranging
from academic research to student exchange programmes.
