session after the STEM workshop
Students from Yu Yuan Secondary
School, Sandakan, Sabah visited UTAR Kampar Campus on 9 January 2024. The
visit, organised by EduQuest Education Services, saw the students attending
a talk session titled “Introduction to UTAR Programmes and Financial Aid”,
conducted by the Division of Programme Promotion.
The visit also featured a STEM
workshop titled “Can you build?” for the high school students. It was
conducted by the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT). The
activities left a lasting impression, fostering a “wow” factor and
connecting students with experiential learning. FEGT at UTAR is dedicated to
offering students the chance to explore industries and inspire future
innovators through practical applications.
The STEM workshop was followed by
a campus tour conducted by the DPP staff. Aside from that, the students also
visited the UTAR Hospital.
The facilitators were FEGT Dean Ir
Prof Dr Ng Choon Aun, Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial
Training Dr Tan Kok Tat, Department of Construction Management Head Dr Kwan
Wai Hoe, Dr Leong Sim Siong and Ts Tan Zi Yi.
