FSc academic researcher visits National Cheng Kung University to broaden research collaboration
In early December 2023, Dr Tan Chin Xuan from the Department of Allied Health Sciences of UTAR Faculty of Science (FSc), and several academic researchers from public research universities in Malaysia, visited the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan.
Dr Tan said, “This visit has expanded my professional network by connecting me with various academic researchers from NCKU and local institutions. The exchange of knowledge, experiences, and skills during this visit was beneficial for my career as a researcher and academic.”
“Delivering a public lecture at NCKU has expanded my perspective on engaging with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds,” Dr Tan added.
He concluded, “Exploring NCKU’s top-notch hospital, facilities, and centres was an incredible and enlightening experience. The five-day visitation allowed me to explore the potential of joint grant applications, share research knowledge, and discuss publications with academic researchers from NCKU. Additionally, a joint webinar will be organised in 2024 to broaden research collaboration between UTAR and NCKU. I am honoured to serve as the conduit for research collaboration between UTAR and NCKU, and also between Malaysia and Taiwan.”
