A supplementary agreement signing ceremony was held
between UTAR and Hubei Polytechnic University (HBPU), China on 24 June 2024
at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The signatories were UTAR
President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and HBPU Secretary of the Party
Committee Mr Zhang Fangsheng.

The supplementary agreement signs
upon their existing Collaborative Agreement for the International 2+2
Bachelor’s Degree Programme, detailing specific cooperative majors,
responsibilities for teaching and management, and ensuring alignment in
educational quality standards.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “In the future, two universities will continue to work hand in hand, promoting the internationalisation of education, fostering relations between Malaysia and China, and enhancing cultural exchange and cooperation. We will continue to strengthen our collaboration in areas such as student exchange, academic exchange, and academic research. We will jointly build an educational brand with international influence.”
Mr Zhang
Mr Zhang said, “This year
celebrates the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between
Malaysia and China. We aim to continue fostering the friendly ties between
our nations through this collaboration. In the future, we aspire to enhance
cooperation in various areas, such as academic exchanges, joint research,
and more.”
