MoU exchange with Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University, China

The exchange ceremony of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UTAR and Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University (JLASTU), China took place on 28 June 2024 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus.

The MoU aimed to initiate joint research projects and talent training programmes, facilitate academic exchanges and student mobility programmes and provide internships for undergraduates.

Present at the event were JLASTU Vice President Prof Dr Pan Li, International Cooperation and Exchange Department Director Prof Dr Wang Liguo, School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dean Prof Dr Zhang Ying, College of Agriculture Dean Prof Dr Wang Shuai, and International Cooperation and Exchange Department Section Member Mr Li Longfei.

UTAR Vice President for Internationalisation and Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, Centre for International Student Recruitment and Education Collaboration (CISREC) Director Mr Lee Choy Fong, Centre for Curriculum Development and Innovation Head Dr Ngeow Yeok Meng, CISREC Senior Assistant Manager Ms Ng Beng Mui and Office of International Affairs (OIA) Senior Assistant Manager Ms Liu Dan were present as well.

Prof Goi expressed, “I believe our collaboration will expose our faculty and students to cutting-edge academic achievements and excellent educational resources, enhancing teaching quality and research innovation. This partnership will also offer our students diverse and high-quality learning and development opportunities, helping them grow into high-calibre talents with international perspectives and innovative spirit.”

Prof Pan said, “In the context of globalisation, cooperation and exchanges between universities are particularly important. Through cooperation, we can share resources, complement each other’s strengths, and jointly respond to global challenges. I hope that our cooperation will bear fruitful results and contribute to the development of both universities.”
