UTAR and Faeth Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd formalised their partnership by signing an inaugural memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the UTAR Kampar Campus on 17 July 2024. This significant event marked the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at enhancing education and industry practices through mutual efforts.

The MoU was signed by UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and Faeth Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd Managing Director Mr Lee Ken Kok. The ceremony was also attended by Mr Michael Lee, Senior Manager - HR, Communications, and Employee Relations from Faeth Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd.

UTAR representatives included Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT) Dean Ir Prof Dr Ng Choon Aun, FEGT Deputy Dean for Academic Development and Undergraduate Programmes Assoc Prof Ir Ts Dr Leong Kah Hon, FEGT Head of Department of PetroChemical Engineering Dr Yeoh Wei Ming, FEGT Head of Department of Environmental Engineering Assoc Prof Dr Zafarullah Nizamani, FEGT academics, Office of International Affairs Senior Assistant Manager Ms Chin Sau Lai and staff.

The agreement emphasises a mutual commitment to collaboration and innovation in both education and industry. The partnership is poised to foster joint projects, collaborative research, and the sharing of expertise. It will facilitate exchanges of ideas and resources, encouraging attachment and mutual visits by staff members from both institutions.
