The organising committee also invited Datin Seri Maggie Chong, Founder of the Malaysian Ecolinguistics Association and Sunshine Learning Center Sdn Bhd, to deliver a keynote speech titled “Poshu Lao Tzu and Life” (帛书老子与生活). According to Datin Seri Maggie Chong, “Poshu” referred to silk manuscripts, with one notable example being the “Lao Tzu” or Tao Te Ching, which was discovered in the Mawangdui Han Tombs in Changsha in 1973. Datin Maggie Chong elaborated on the authenticity, distinctive features, and historical significance of the Poshu Lao Tzu, shedding light on its relevance and application in modern times. Her insightful views on the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism sparked fresh perspectives on traditional cultural values.
