Pulau Redang trip offers refreshing break for alumni

In an effort to create opportunities for UTAR alumni to reconnect, learn, and enjoy enriching experiences, the Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) of UTAR organised a delightful trip to Pulau Redang, Terengganu from 8 June 2024 to 10 June 2024. The purpose of the trip was to strengthen the connections within the UTAR community by offering participants both educational and recreational experiences.

The trip, led by a diverse group comprising alumni, family members of alumni, and UTAR staff, was packed with engaging activities and scenic visits. The trip saw a total of 16 participants.

The participants were welcomed at the picturesque Redang Holiday Beach Resort, which served as the base for their stay. The itinerary included three snorkelling sessions, offering participants an up-close encounter with the vibrant marine life at Taman Laut Pulau Redang and the surrounding islands. These underwater adventures were not only thrilling but also educational, as they highlighted the importance of marine conservation.

In addition to snorkelling, the group enjoyed scrumptious meals, ensuring that everyone was well-nourished and energised for the activities. The culinary experiences were complemented by shopping excursions and dining at Pasar Payang and Chinatown, where participants explored the local markets and savoured traditional delicacies.

The primary purpose of the trip was to provide an educational and recreational retreat for UTAR alumni and their families. The participants gained valuable insights into marine conservation efforts, which emphasised the significance of protecting our underwater ecosystems. Additionally, the various activities facilitated the strengthening of teamwork skills among the participants, fostering a sense of camaraderie and collaboration.

Overall, the trip to Pulau Redang was a resounding success. It allowed the participants to take a refreshing break from their routines, immersing themselves in nature’s beauty and engaging in meaningful learning experiences. The memories created during this retreat will undoubtedly be cherished by all who attended.
