STEM & TEKVO Week at SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar
UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus proudly participated in the STEM & TEKVO Week at SMK Methodist (ACS) Kampar, an event aimed to inspire and engage students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Held from 10 to 14 June 2024, the event attracted over 700 students.
CFS Kampar Campus showcased a diverse array of intriguing activities and exhibits, covering the scientific disciplines of Physics and Information Technology (IT). The event featured CFS Kampar Campus academics Mr Lim Min Leong, Mr Lee Phui Han, Ms Kavitha Manickam and Ms Lee Siok Wei. Some of the activities included “Centre for Gravity,” “Angular Momentum,” “Cryptography: The Art of Secret Writing,” and “Decode the Matrix: A Binary Puzzle Challenge.”
At the physics booth, the students explored the principles of balance and stability through hands-on experiments. They also gained insights into angular momentum through engaging demonstrations. Meanwhile, the IT booth introduced students to the fascinating world of cryptography and the basics of binary code through puzzles.
The students enjoyed the event and expressed their excitement and appreciation for the interactive and informative activities. They found the hands-on activities both fun and inspiring, enhancing their interest in STEM and AI fields.
