A visual feast at UTAR’s Dragon Boat Festival Poster Design Exhibition

The UTAR Confucius Institute in collaboration with the Art College of Dezhou University, China co-hosted the “Dragon Boat Festival Poster Design Exhibition” on 10 June 2024. Held at UTAR’s T&CM Centre, the event drew nearly 100 participants, witnessing the fusion of traditional Chinese culture and innovative design.

Focusing on the Dragon Boat Festival theme, the exhibition featured posters that incorporated traditional elements such as rice dumplings (zongzi) and dragon boats, reimagined through modern design techniques to give them new artistic vitality. The Confucius Institute at UTAR and the Art College of Dezhou University aimed to promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture through this event, allowing more people to understand and appreciate the unique beauty of Chinese traditions.

The exhibition attracted a diverse audience, including many non-Chinese visitors who showed keen interest in the background and customs of the ancient festival. Attendees enthusiastically took photos with the displayed works and the organisers, capturing memorable moments of Malaysia-China cultural exchange.

This event highlighted the ongoing efforts and achievements of the Confucius Institute at UTAR and the Art College of Dezhou University in promoting Chinese culture. Both institutions are dedicated to fostering cultural exchanges through various activities, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship among people from different cultural backgrounds.

The Confucius Institute at UTAR and the Art College of Dezhou University are expected to continue their collaboration, organising more cultural events that will showcase the brilliance of Chinese culture on the global stage.
