TalentCorp's 2024 Women Career Convention Panel Discussion on Malaysia’s Aging Demographics

Ms Lim Guat Yen, Director of UTAR's Centre for Corporate and Community Development, was a panellist at the 2024 Women Career Convention's panel discussion on 'Community-Based Care Ecosystem and ESG Initiatives', held on 9 March 2024, at Nexus Bangsar South. This event, spearheaded by TalentCorp, aimed to foster career opportunities for women re-entering the workforce and retirees within the aged care industry, in line with the Ekonomi MADANI Malaysia Roadmap.

Alongside esteemed panellists including Prof Dr Tan Maw Pin, Consultant Geriatrician from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and the founder of Act4Health Services Sdn Bhd, and Mr Ng Chin Tiong, Founder and CEO of Tribe App Pte Ltd., Ms Lim and the panellists were engaged in a robust discussion moderated by Dr Carol Yip from Managedcare. Together, they explored strategies to enhance community care for the elderly population.

Ms Lim underscored the imperative of human capital development, advocating for tailored courses, re-entry initiatives for women and retirees, and empowerment programmes to address the dynamic needs of ageing individuals and their families.
