International students explore Perak

Embarking on an exciting journey to delve into Malaysia’s vibrant culture and mouth-watering cuisine, a group of over 17 international exchange students recently explored the bustling city of Ipoh on 16 March 2024. Led by the Centre for Extension Education (CEE) under the Student Exchange Programme (SEP), the immersive experience aimed to ignite a deeper understanding of cultural diversity and enhance the students’ global perspectives.

Kicking off their adventure, the exchange students from UTAR Sungai Long Campus first ventured into the heart of Ipoh by exploring the UTAR Kampar Campus. Surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil landscapes, this picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for academic engagement and cultural immersion. Here, they had the chance to mingle with peers from various backgrounds and nationalities, fostering enriching cross-cultural connections.

As they delved deeper into Ipoh’s vibrant streets, the exchange students eagerly uncovered the city’s hidden treasures and immersed themselves in its rich tapestry of culture. From indulging in delectable traditional delicacies at bustling markets to marvelling at awe-inspiring historical landmarks, every moment of their exploration was a testament to Malaysia’s captivating heritage. Emerging from their adventure, they carried with them not only fond memories but also a profound appreciation for the beauty of cultural diversity and the power of cross-cultural connections.
