Representatives from 21 higher
education institutions in the Shandong Province paid a visit to UTAR Sungai
Long Campus on 25 April 2024. They were accompanied by representatives from
the Malaysian Han Culture Centre and Chinese Testing International Co., Ltd.

principals, and representatives from the
higher education institutions in Shandong Province.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “In this era
of globalisation, academic and education have gradually become
internationalised, and strengthening international exchanges and cooperation
has become an inevitable trend in the development of universities. Our
university has a profound relationship with Shandong, and many exchanges and
cooperation have made us have an indissoluble bond. This visit is an
important opportunity for us to deepen cooperation and seek common
development. We look forward to conducting more extensive exchanges with
Shandong universities in academic, cultural and other fields in the future
to jointly promote the development of education.”

Dato’ Goh expressed the care and
expectations of educators for students based on his personal experience, and
shared his deep feelings for Shandong’s regional culture, as well as his
expectations for future cooperation with Shandong universities. In addition,
he also told the distinguished guests from Shandong about the history of
UTAR and its importance to the Chinese community, and hoped that UTAR and
higher education institutions in Shandong Province could carry out more
cooperation in the fields of science and technology, and education.

After the opening ceremony, Office
of International Affairs (OIA) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn
introduced UTAR in detail to the guests. Subsequently, the parties engaged
in a productive exchange, discussing topics such as student and staff
exchanges, academic cooperation and joint research projects.

Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao University, Shandong
Jianzhu University, Qufu Normal University, Shandong University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shandong First Medical University (Shandong
Academy Of Medical Sciences), Heze College, Dongfang College, Shandong
University of Finance and Economics, Shandong Xiehe University, Shandong
Vocational and Technical University of International Studies, Binzhou
Polytechnic, Jinan Vocational College, Linyi Vocational College, Zaozhuang
Vocational College, Shandong College of Electronic Technology, Shandong
Vocational Institute of Fashion Technology, Jinan Engineering Polytechnic,
Heze Home Economics College, Rizhao Marine Engineering Vocational College
and Weifang Engineering Vocational College.
