UTAR received the Asian University Excellence Award
at the 2024 National Education & Learning Summit on 23 April 2024 at the
World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Representing UTAR to receive the award was Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong
Tat, President of UTAR. He took home a trophy and a certificate.
The summit, themed ‘Innovating Education for the
Future’ was organised by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific in
collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and
Universities (MAPCU) and the National Association of Private Educational
Institutions (NAPEI) Malaysia. It addressed pressing challenges and
opportunities within the education sector, spurred by rapid technological
advancements and a shifting global landscape. The event featured keynote
addresses, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at
fostering collaborative efforts towards a resilient education system in
Malaysia.
The summit also witnessed Prof Dato’ Ewe, among other
esteemed panellists, discussing “Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia:
Fostering Creativity and Innovation” during the Vice-Chancellor Roundtable
session.
A cornerstone event for educational stakeholders from
various sectors—including educators, policymakers, business leaders,
technology innovators, and the broader community—the summit served as a
platform to explore cutting-edge approaches to education. It aimed to ensure
that future generations are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary
to thrive in an evolving world.
