Prof Dr Jatin Srivastava, an
academic at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the Director of the
Institute for International Journalism at Ohio University, paid a visit to
the Faculty of Creative Industries at UTAR Sungai Long Campus.
Serving as the external examiner
for the FCI Master of Communication programme, Prof Jatin evaluated the
curriculum and engaged in discussions with faculty members and students
during his visit from 23 April to 26 April 2024.

During his time at UTAR, Prof
Jatin engaged in a meeting with Mr Beh to delve into different facets of the
master’s programme. His valuable insights and feedback were anticipated to
play a pivotal role in enhancing and refining the programme further. Apart
from serving as an external examiner, Prof Jatin also held the role of an
International Collaborative Partner. He had discussions with Dr Sharon to
investigate potential collaborative ventures and networking avenues with
scholars based in the United States.

Furthermore, Prof Jatin conducted
multiple talks and presentations during his visit. Through these sessions,
he imparted his knowledge and experience in research, publishing, and
teaching, offering valuable guidance and insights to both UTAR students and
faculty members.

Overall, Prof Jatin’s visit to
UTAR was a fruitful and enriching experience for all involved. His
contributions are expected to have a lasting impact on the Master of
Communication programme and the Centre for Media and Communication Research,
paving the way for future collaborations and academic achievements.
