The Faculty of Accountancy and
Management (FAM) organised the “3MP & 5MP and Poster Competition” on 24 and
25 April 2024 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus.
The assessment for the Poster
Competition took place on 24 April 2024. The competition saw the students
brimming with excitement and creativity as they eagerly showcased their
informative posters and presented their ideas to a panel of judges. The
judges were FAM academic Prof Sr Dr Anuar bin Alias, Department of
Consultancy and Commercialisation Manager Mr Hamrizal bin Haris and Centre
for Sustainable Design and Built Environment Chairperson Dr Nur Aqlima binti
Ramli.
The 3-Minutes and 5-Minutes
Presentation Competition (3MP & 5MP), on the other hand, took place on the
following day. It featured two categories: 3MP for postgraduate students and
5MP for undergraduates. A total of 12 finalists, comprising three
postgraduates and nine undergraduates, were chosen to present their thesis
projects and final-year projects using a single picture slide, with time
limits of three minutes and five minutes, respectively.

Consultant Ms Nancy Nais, International Islamic College Special Officer to
the Chief Executive Officer Mr Mohd Jeffrey Efendi bin Mohamad Ali and FAM
Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Mr Low Chin
Kian.

The primary objective of the competition was to
enhance students’ written communication skills by transforming complex
content into concise and straightforward presentations. Participants were
tasked with creating short and simple presentations that effectively
conveyed the intended message within an allocated time frame. The goal was
to capture the audience’s interest swiftly, teaching participants how to
communicate effectively and connect with people’s minds in a brief period,
ensuring clear and impactful presentations.
The champion of the Poster and 3MP & 5MP Competition
walked away with a cash prize of RM150 and certificates while the first and
second runner-ups took home RM100 and RM50 respectively, with certificates.
The winner of the Most Popular Poster was awarded RM100 and a certificate.
