Postgraduate Study Abroad Workshop 2024 by DARP

The Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP) organised the Postgraduate Study Abroad Workshop 2024: Navigating Opportunities and Application Success on 24 April 2024 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. The event catered to 24 participants eager to explore their postgraduate prospects on a global scale.

The workshop was designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the vast opportunities for postgraduate study available internationally. It aimed to inspire a proactive mindset among students keen on pursuing higher education abroad and to equip them with the necessary skills for a successful application process. Among the topics covered included crafting compelling resumes, securing impactful recommendation letters, and understanding the varied admission criteria of prestigious universities worldwide.

The event featured insightful knowledge sharing from several distinguished speakers. Ms Jolene Koh and Ms Norfarah Othman from the International Development Program (IDP) Malaysia shared extensive knowledge on international postgraduate paths and effective strategies for navigating the application landscape. Meanwhile, Pn Norlaila binti Ismail from the Division of Programme Promotion (DPP) provided detailed information on UTAR’s postgraduate offerings and application prerequisites.

The workshop proved to be an invaluable opportunity for students to engage directly with the speakers as they offered clear guidance on the application process and highlighting the benefits of thorough preparation and informed decision-making.
