MoA between UTAR and Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd

UTAR and Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) on 13 May 2024 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. With the signing of the MoA, UTAR will engage in collaborative research with Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd in the field of electrical power systems.

The signatories of the MoA were UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd Managing Director Ir Gunasegaran Reddy. The witnesses were Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr Lee Kim Yee and Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd Director Ir Rajasegaran Thevaraj.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Centre for Power Systems and Electricity Chairperson Ir Prof Dr Lim Yun Seng, Centre for Railway Infrastructure and Engineering Chairperson Assoc Prof Ir Dr Chua Kein Huat, LKC FES Department of Laboratory Management and Safety Administration Head Assoc Prof Ir Dr Wong Jianhui, Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Wang Yiling.

Prof Dato’ Ewe said, “I am pleased that UTAR and Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd will be able to jointly collaborate on research projects in the field of electrical power systems. This collaboration will not only enhance our students’ learning experience but also contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge in this critical area.”

Ir Gunasegaran said that Perunding Shanu Sdn Bhd has been prioritising integrity and engineering excellence since 1992, ensuring steady work even during COVID-19. He mentioned that they have completed major projects like the Express Rail Link Traction Power Supply Electrification Project (KL Sentral to KLIA), Mechanical and Electrical Consultancy Services for Semiconductor Manufacturing Installations, Data Centres, Telecommunication and Satellite Broadcast Installations, Commercial High Rise Properties and Audit and Trouble Shooting of M&E Infrastructure Installations. He looks forward to collaborating with UTAR and applying these principles for a successful and mutually beneficial projects.
