Jointly organised by the UTAR Green Campus Committee
(UGCC) of Sungai Long Campus and the Chinese Arts Research Unit of the
Centre for Chinese Studies Research, the project “Heart Moving Photo
Campaign” was successfully held from 1 January 2024 to 29 February 2024. The
campaign, open to all staff and students of UTAR Sungai Long Campus,
received a total of 45 participation and photo submissions.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Given that UTAR
Sungai Long Campus is situated in a bustling downtown area, it can be
challenging to convey its green or artistic ambiance. This campaign was
designed to inspire students and staff at the Sungai Long Campus to use
their photography skills to capture their surroundings. The goal was to
express their appreciation for the environment and ecology, and to promote
the importance of caring for nature through a single photograph.
The award presentation ceremony was held on 16 April
2024 at Sungai Long Campus. UTAR Green Campus Committee Chairman of Sungai
Long Campus Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and Institute of Chinese Studies Dean
Assoc Prof Dr Chong Siou Wei presented the awards and certificates to the
winners, accompanied by Project Chairperson Dr Lew Hoi Len and Project
Secretary Ms Nur Shafarina binti Abdul Wahab. The results were as follows:
