UTAR welcomed visitors from China universities and China’s University and College Admission System (CUCAS) at its Sungai Long Campus on 20 May 2024. The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between Malaysian and China educational institutions through academic exchange and cooperation.

UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, welcomed the visitors, expressing gratitude for their visit and emphasising UTAR’s commitment to holistic education. He introduced UTAR’s Six Pillars of Education and detailed UTAR’s recent accomplishments in various academic fields and competitions. Prof Dato’ Ewe also highlighted UTAR’s efforts towards internationalisation, underscoring the importance of global partnerships in higher education.

	Mr Shi Chao, General Manager of CUCAS, thanked UTAR for the hospitality and 
	shared CUCAS’s vision of building bridges between China and Malaysian 
	universities. He stressed the significance of promoting mutual understanding 
	and cooperation between the institutions in his speech. 
	
	The event also featured presentations from representatives of various 
	Chinese universities, including Hainan Tropical Ocean University Director of 
	Student Affairs Office Mr Chen Lei, Zhejiang University of Finance and 
	Economics Prof Dr Li Guowei, Vice Dean of School of Economics Mr Deng 
	Xiaojun, Vice Dean of School of Foreign Languages Mr Xiong Jianguo, School 
	of International Education & Studies Admission Director Ms Chen Sihan, North 
	China Institute of Science and Technology International Cooperative Deputy 
	Director Mr Wang Meng and Programme Manager Ms Xi Ashu, Shanghai University 
	of Traditional Chinese Medicine Admission and Brand Management & Promotion 
	Centre Advisor Ms Zhang Zhexi and TCM Education Centre Director Ms Jiang Ru,

	Tjahjono. These representatives introduced their respective institutions and 
	discussed potential areas for collaboration.
	
	Present at the event were Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Dean

	Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Assoc Prof Ts Dr 
	Lee Kim Yee, M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MK FMHS) 
	Department of Chinese Medicine Head Dr Leu Kim Fey, Centre for International 
	Student Recruitment and Education Collaboration Director Mr Lee Choy Fong,

	and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Goo Yi Qun.
