UTAR and Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd partner to support students through UTAR Care Scholarships

UTAR and HE Group Bhd (Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd) entered into a partnership in support of the UTAR Care Scholarships to provide financial aid to deserving students who are pursuing their tertiary studies at UTAR on 11 October 2024 at its Sungai Long Campus.

Signing the agreement were UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat and Hexatech Engineering Managing Director Mr Haw Chee Seng. Witnessing the signing were UTAR Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations Prof Dr Choong Chee Keong and Hexatech Engineering HR Manager Ms Chua Geok Ping.

The collaboration reflected Hexatech’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and the advancement of education. During the ceremony, Hexatech Engineering Mr Haw expressed the company’s enthusiasm for this partnership, highlighting the importance of investing in education to nurture future leaders.

Meanwhile, UTAR President Ir Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat expressed his sincere appreciation for Hexatech’s support, noting how the collaboration would positively impact the students and the community at large.

Also present at the ceremony were Department of Scholarships and Financial Aid Head Ms Tan Wear Sim, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science Dean Prof Ts Dr Yap Wun She, Faculty of Accountancy and Management Deputy Dean for R&D and Postgraduate Programmes Sr Dr Chin Hon Choong and Department of Alumni Relations and Placement staff Ms Catherine Jok Wan.

The UTAR Care Scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to students facing financial difficulties, ensuring that no deserving student is left behind due to financial constraints. This collaboration further strengthens UTAR’s commitment to offering equal educational opportunities for all.
