UTAR Department of International Students Services (DISS) organised an exciting day trip for the international students of UTAR Sungai Long Campus on 25 August 2024 to Bentong, Pahang. The event, titled “International Student Durian Buffet Feast & Bentong Day Trip” was a delightful cultural immersion for students eager to experience the local flavours and sights.

The highlight of the trip was a visit to the local durian farm, where students had the unique opportunity to learn about tropical fruit trees and, most importantly, indulge in Malaysia’s beloved “King of Fruits”— the durian. The students were treated to different types of durians, namely Durian D24 and Musang King, allowing them to experience the wide spectrum of flavours and savour them.

Apart from that, the international students also got the opportunity to sample other tropical fruits, such as mangosteen, rambutan, and coconut.

The day continued with a visit to Chamang Waterfall and Bentong Walk, where the students were able to explore the local attractions and gain insights into the town’s heritage.

Overall, the day trip offered international students not only a taste of Malaysia’s unique fruits but also an unforgettable experience of its natural and cultural treasures.
