Sdn Bhd reached a pivotal moment with the signing of a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) at UTAR Sungai Long Campus. This strategic partnership
aimed to enhance professional education while narrowing the divide between
academic expertise and practical industry application.
Representing ShineWing TY Teoh Academy Sdn Bhd were
Managing Director Dr Teoh Toh Yeap, Chief Executive Officer Mr Teoh Toh
Soon, and Directors, Mr Lee Choon Chai and Mr Teoh Tow Kean.
The attendees from UTAR included its President Ir
Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat, Vice President for Internationalisation and
Academic Development Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, Faculty of Accountancy and
Management (FAM) Dean Dr Pok Wei Fong, FAM academic from the Department of
Finance Dr Liew Ping Xin, Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director
Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Wang Yiling.
The MoU between UTAR and ShineWing TY Teoh Academy
Sdn Bhd was designed to facilitate the development of specialised training
courses aimed at equipping professionals and corporate participants with
essential skills for today’s dynamic business environment. UTAR’s esteemed
faculty, accredited by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD
Corp), will spearhead these programmes, which will not contribute to
academic credit but focus on practical, industry-relevant knowledge.

During the ceremony, Prof Dato’ Dr Ewe Hong Tat
emphasised the significance of the partnership, stating, “This MoU
symbolises more than just a formal agreement; it represents a shared
commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering professional development. By
leveraging UTAR’s academic rigour and ShineWing TY Teoh Academy’s industry
expertise, we are creating a platform that not only enhances individual
capabilities but also contributes to societal advancement.”
Dr Teoh sharing his insights
Dr Teoh Toh Yeap echoed these sentiments,
highlighting the potential impact of the collaboration on the workforce. “We
are confident that this collaboration will provide a cost-effective
opportunity for employers to enhance their employees’ skills and knowledge.
This partnership is a testament to our commitment to contributing to the
education sector alongside UTAR, and we believe it will significantly
increase our expertise in the accounting sector and beyond.”
The signing ceremony concluded with a formal exchange
of souvenirs, followed by a group photo session. The partnership between
UTAR and ShineWing TY Teoh Academy Sdn Bhd is poised to yield substantial
benefits for both the academic and business communities, exemplifying the
power of industry-academia collaboration in driving innovation and growth.
