Visit by East China Jiaotong University

Student and staff from ECJTU with UTAR staff

UTAR welcomed visitors from the East China Jiaotong University (ECJTU) at its Sungai Long Campus on 26 August 2024. The visit aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two parties. It also aimed to provide visitors with an opportunity to explore the campus, as well as its facilities.

The visitors, consisting of 13 students and staff, were warmly welcomed by UTAR Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM) Deputy Dean for Student Development and Industrial Training Mr Low Chin Kian, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES) Head of Programme of MEng (Electrical) Assoc Prof Dr Shee Yu Gang, Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director Assoc Prof Dr Lai Soon Onn and OIA Assistant Manager Ms Wang Yiling.

The discussion commenced with opening remarks from Dr Lai, who introduced UTAR and expressed hopes for a valuable exchange. Mr Low then provided an overview of the Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM), while Dr Shee presented details about the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES), including the courses offered and their areas of specialisation.

An engaging Q&A session followed, allowing ECJTU students to delve deeper into UTAR’s course frameworks, structures, and distinctions from their own institution, particularly in the fields of engineering, science, and accountancy. The visit concluded with a souvenir exchange and a group photography session, marking the end of a productive and insightful day.
