The Centre for Foundation Studies of UTAR Sungai Long Campus (CFS SL) organised a two-day guest lecture series titled Supply Chain Management on 7 and 8 April 2025. Held as part of the Marketing course (FHBM1124), the sessions aimed to enrich students’ understanding of how strategic supply chain management contributes to effective marketing practices.

The speaker for the lecture series was Faculty of Accountancy and Management academic Dr Foo Meow Yee, who provided valuable industry insights and scholarly perspectives to the sessions.

The two sessions offered a comprehensive overview of the essential role of supply chain operations in marketing success. Dr Foo discussed how robust supply chain strategies ensure timely product availability, lower costs, and enhance overall customer satisfaction. She also highlighted the importance of integrating technology and sustainable practices in today’s digital supply chains.

The first session catered to students enrolled in the Marketing course, while the second attracted a wider audience comprising 25 students from various faculties and five staff members. Both sessions were interactive and well-received, encouraging lively discussion on real-world logistics, sustainability trends, and digital transformation in the supply chain industry.

Participants praised the lecture for its clarity, relevance, and engaging delivery. Many noted it was their first exposure to supply chain management and appreciated the practical examples provided. Overall, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing keen interest in similar future events.

The event was smoothly coordinated by CFS SL academic Ms Liang Chooi Ling and supported by a dedicated team comprising Mr W. B. C. Robert, Ms Ngo Siau Woon, Pn Haslina binti Ahmad Fauzi, Mr Law Soon Pin, Ms Nalini Panneer Selvan, Pn Noor Shafryna binti Salleh, Mr Abdolrasool Taghvaee, and Ms Anusuya Ravindran.
