“Even in hardship, education must never be neglected.” This timeless belief, signifying society’s high regard for the significance of education, has long been an essence in the world of education. The belief has long laid the foundation for an equal education among knowledge seekers, building bridges towards boundless opportunities, empowerment, and a better future.
This is especially true for those who aspire to gain knowledge despite financial limitations. In a proud reflection of this unwavering spirit, six outstanding undergraduate students from UTAR were recently awarded scholarships by the Rotary Club of Pudu and Yayasan Kelab-Kelab Rotary Malaysia (YKKRM). The scholarship is part of the Rotary Club of Pudu Undergraduate Financial Aid programme, designed to support students from financially disadvantaged families who demonstrated outstanding academic performance in their pursuit of undergraduate education. The meaningful initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by underprivileged students, while empowering them to excel in their academic pursuits and personal growth. Since its inception in 1971, it has disbursed over RM1.7million, connecting students to quality education across Malaysia.
Working together with various organisations, UTAR Department of Scholarships and Financial Aid (DSFA) has helped match deserving candidates who meet both academic and financial criteria with a wide range of scholarships and financial aid. Looking ahead, UTAR remains committed to its long-standing mission of nurturing holistic students and graduates. In collaboration with organisations such as the Rotary Club of Pudu, the university will continue to create enriching opportunities that empower students to achieve their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society, ensuring that students are not denied access to quality education and a brighter future.
UTAR congratulates all scholarship recipients and wishes them an exciting and enriching journey ahead, filled with invaluable opportunities for academic and personal growth.
