DAAD shares snippets about pursuing education and research in Germany

The DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst), or German Academic Exchange Service, visited UTAR Kampar Campus on 15 April 2025.

During the visit, DAAD Regional Office Jakarta Director Dr Guido Schnieders and Desk Officer for Malaysia Ms Lidya Natalie shared valuable insights and guidance on study, research, and funding opportunities in Germany. Dr Schnieders provided an overview of Master’s and PhD programmes, as well as research prospects in Germany, sparking interest among participants and leading to an engaging Q&A session.

His key message focused on ways to successfully engage academics as research partners. He advised participants to be well-versed in their research and to engage the right academics who share similar interest in the field. Encouragingly, participants were informed that it was acceptable to engage with more than one academic.

A meeting with faculty members was also held to explore potential collaborations, with the main focus on encouraging international academic exchange and student mobility.
