The Launching Ceremony of the Technical Skills Enhancement Course for the 2025 National-Level Open STEM Innovation Competition for Primary Schools was held at SJK(C) Kung Man, Serdang Lama, on 12 April 2025. The event aimed to equip participating students and teachers with essential technical skills in preparation for the upcoming national competition, while fostering creativity, innovation, and interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) among primary school pupils.
The event was jointly organised by Persatuan Pengajian & Pembelajaran STEM Malaysia, SJK(C) Kung Man, and Brainet Sdn Bhd. The STEM Innovation Competition is co-organised by UTAR, the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM), the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), and the Malaysia Education Exchange Association.
Representing UTAR at the opening ceremony were Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science Assoc Prof Ts Dr Pua Chang Hong and Specialist II Ir Ts Wong Chee Fui.
The course aims to equip primary school teachers across the country with the necessary skills and knowledge to guide and train their pupils for the National STEM Innovation Competition 2025, which will take place on 14 June 2025. As a co-organiser, UTAR continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing STEM talent at the grassroots level, empowering educators, and supporting innovative teaching approaches in science and technology.
This initiative aligns with UTAR’s mission to contribute to nation-building through educational collaboration and capacity-building programmes that support the advancement of STEM education in Malaysia.
