STEAM Workshop at SMK Sri Kampar

The UTAR STEAM Outreach, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology (FEGT), Faculty of Science (FSc) and Division of Programme Promotion (DPP), organised an engaging STEM workshop for 85 Form 4 students at SMK Sri Kampar on 14 January 2025. The workshop aimed to inspire young minds and spark their interest in the exciting fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

Led by accomplished UTAR academics, the workshop featured various interactive activities designed to foster curiosity and creativity. A standout session was the Arduino Workshop, conducted by Dr Soo Qi Ping, where students were introduced to the basics of electronics and programming, providing them with hands-on experience in technology. Another impactful session was Pemakanan Sihat dalam Kalangan Remaja, led by Mr Sivanesan Rajeswaran, which focused on promoting healthy eating habits among teenagers and raising awareness about the importance of proper nutrition.

This initiative reflected UTAR’s dedication to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular emphasis on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The workshop not only equipped the students with valuable knowledge but also encouraged them to explore innovative solutions for real-world challenges.
