In his address, Prof Dato’ Ewe highlighted UTAR’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a globalised learning environment.

“At UTAR, we firmly believe that education knows no borders. These collaborations not only facilitate academic exchanges but also promote joint research, cultural dialogue, and the exchange of knowledge—all of which contribute to a more interconnected and innovative global society.”

He also encouraged the exchange students to embrace their journey at UTAR, immersing themselves in Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage while forming lifelong connections with peers from diverse backgrounds.

Recognising the challenges of adapting to a new academic and cultural environment, UTAR introduced the UTAR Buddy Programme, whereby student volunteers assist exchange students in transitioning smoothly into campus life. These buddies provide guidance on academic matters, social integration, and navigating daily life in Malaysia.

Exchange students were also encouraged to engage in extracurricular activities, student clubs, and networking opportunities to maximise their experience beyond the classroom.
