A total of 27 participants, including 15 UTAR alumni, one staff member, and 11 members of the public, embarked on a memorable three-day local trip to Taman Negara, Pahang, from 5 to 7 July 2025. Organised by the Department of Alumni Relations and Placement (DARP), the trip aimed to foster stronger bonds among alumni while promoting eco-tourism and cultural appreciation.
Throughout the trip, participants engaged in a series of immersive activities that showcased the natural beauty and cultural richness of Taman Negara. The adventure began with a thrilling Night Jungle Walk, which offered participants a glimpse into the nocturnal life of the rainforest. This was followed by a challenging yet rewarding jungle trekking experience up Teresek Hill, where panoramic views of lush greenery awaited at the summit.
Another highlight was the visit to the Orang Asli Village, home to the Batek tribe. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the traditional lifestyle, customs, and survival skills of the indigenous community. The excitement continued with a rapid shooting experience along the Tembeling River, where boats navigated through the river’s rushing currents, providing an exhilarating ride for all.
The trip concluded with a scenic boat cruise to Lata Berkoh, a serene spot known for its cool, clear waters and tranquil surroundings — perfect for rest and reflection.
