UTAR hosts Retire in STYLE! with Public Bank at UTAR Sungai Long Campus

UTAR, in collaboration with Public Bank Berhad, successfully organised a one-day event titled Retire in STYLE! on 17 July 2025. Spearheaded by the Division of Human Resource (DHR), the event aimed to raise staff awareness on retirement planning while providing convenient access to Public Bank’s financial services through the bank’s on-site support.

The event began with a dedicated talk on retirement planning, delivered by Ms Catherine Ng Lai Chuen, Manager of Corporate Sales, Wealth Management at Public Bank Berhad, and Mr Lye Jee Vern, Senior Executive of Institutional Sales and Financial Planning Department at Public Mutual Berhad. Together, they shared valuable insights to UTAR staff members on effective financial planning for the future. Designed to promote informed financial behaviour, the session covered the fundamentals of retirement preparation and encouraged participants to take proactive steps toward long-term financial security.

Following the talk, participants utilised the mobile service counters set up by Public Bank Berhad and Public Mutual Berhad which operated throughout the day. These counters offered a range of services, including consultations on the Public Bank Private Retirement Scheme (PB PRS), credit card applications, and other financial advisory services. The mobile setup enabled staff members to engage directly with bank representatives in a convenient and familiar setting at UTAR Sungai Long Campus.

A key highlight of the event was the exclusive “Zero Sales Charge” promotion for participants who signed up for any PB PRS funds during the event. This special offer was exclusively extended to UTAR staff members and served as an added incentive for UTAR staff members to take immediate action towards their retirement goals.
