Group photo to celebrate the milestone partnership between UTAR CCCD and ECOHAIR ACADEMY
The Centre for Corporate and Community Development (CCCD) of UTAR hosted the ECOHAIR ACADEMY Course Completion Ceremony on 9 June 2025 at its Sungai Long Campus. The event celebrated and recognised the achievements of participants from the September 2024 intake who had successfully completed the Professional Certificate in Hairdressing Full Course.
This milestone followed the strategic collaboration established prior to the signing of the memorandum of understanding between UTAR CCCD and Ecohair Salon & Academy Sdn Bhd on 11 September 2024. The partnership aimed to explore cooperation in delivering training programmes, fostering personal and professional growth, and creating career opportunities for ECOHAIR ACADEMY students.Ms Lim Guat Yen
CCCD Director Ms Lim Guat Yen said, “This programme is a collaborative effort between UTAR CCCD and ECOHAIR Salon & Academy — represents more than the completion of a training course. It reflects our shared belief in the value of skilled craftsmanship, hands-on professional training, and the importance of recognising talents in industries that have long deserved more structured support and acknowledgement.”
She continued, “Through this course, UTAR CCCD has taken a meaningful step forward by recognising and supporting skills-based training in the hairdressing industry. As the training arm of UTAR, CCCD is proud to support this initiative as part of its broader mission to offer quality upskilling and reskilling opportunities. This initiative highlights our commitment to promoting practical, industry-relevant training that equips individuals with valuable skills for real-world success.”ECOHAIR ACADEMY Founder Mr Jin Tan Kean Boon said, “I am proud to share that ECOHAIR ACADEMY is the first hairdressing academy in Malaysia to establish an official educational collaboration with UTAR CCCD, earning academic recognition. This is not just a milestone for our institution, but a breakthrough for the entire hairdressing industry. One that marks the beginning of a new chapter of professionalism and structure in this field.”

ECOHAIR ACADEMY Principal Mr Jeff Teh Wei Chuan said, “We are proud to see our pioneering batch of students successfully complete this comprehensive programme and receive their professional certificates, endorsed by UTAR CCCD. This certification is more than just a piece of paper. It represents the culmination of hard work, acquired knowledge, practical skills, and most importantly, a fresh beginning for their professional journeys.”

Mr Wong Chu Kok, a representative of the Professional Certificate in Hairdressing Full Course September 2024 intake, said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to UTAR CCCD and ECOHAIR ACADEMY for giving all of us the opportunity to participate in this professional hairdressing course and receive an official certificate endorsed by UTAR CCCD.” He continued, “This not only strengthens our personal credentials, but also brings greater respect and recognition to the entire hairdressing profession.”
The ceremony also featured a video presentation showcasing key moments and achievements during the training programme. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants, a group photo session, and a souvenir presentation session, marking the end of a meaningful celebration.
