A total of 340 enthusiastic Form 3 and Form 4 students from SMK Pusing, Batu Gajah, gained valuable skills and insights through the engaging and impactful school engagement projects organised by UTAR Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) of Kampar Campus on 18 and 21 February 2025.
The initiative aimed to enhance students’ personal development and well-being, starting with a highly interactive and insightful Stress Management Workshop on 18 February 2025. Facilitated by experienced CFS Kampar Campus academic Ms Bhargkavi Pari, and supported by a dedicated team including Ms Pakialetchumy Antoni, Ms Tsen Tzu Yee, Mr Ho Wai Yew, and Mr Voon Kah Loon, the workshop empowered students with essential stress-coping strategies. Ms Bhargkavi not only explained the nature of stress but also engaged students in hands-on activities, ensuring they left with practical and effective stress relief techniques.
The momentum continued on 21 February 2025 with motivational and goal-setting sessions, where CFS Kampar Campus academics Pn Zurina binti Abdullah and Cik Nur Adilah Shahirah binti Shafie, assisted by Ms Hazel Lim Hui Ling, inspired students to believe in themselves and strive for success. They introduced powerful self-motivation techniques, guiding students on how to overcome challenges with confidence. A lively quiz session further reinforced these lessons, allowing students to actively apply their learning.
Students responded enthusiastically, highlighting the real-world relevance and practicality of the sessions. Muhammad Shah Ridzuan bin Mohd Sabri from Form 3 shared, “The event inspired us to believe in ourselves and persist through challenges. It was interesting and easy to follow.” Form 4 student Choong Kai Lan added, “I learned how to manage my time wisely. I really enjoyed the interactive session.”
Meanwhile, on the same day, 200 Form 4 and Form 5 students from SMK Pantai Remis benefited from a dynamic Health and Career Exploration Programme. The event, designed to equip students with essential life skills and career guidance, kicked off with an informative session on “Health and Safety Awareness” by CFS Kampar Campus Safety Coordinator En Mohd Rizalman bin Abd Rahman. His session instilled crucial safety awareness among students, preparing them to navigate various situations responsibly.
Following this, CFS Kampar Campus academics Ms Yuvashini Salvamani and Mr Sree Amertharaj Ratnam led a Career Pathways Workshop, offering students invaluable guidance for their future. Through the widely recognised RIASEC Test, students gained clearer insights into their personal strengths and career interests, helping them make informed decisions about their educational and professional paths.
The programme received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both students and teachers. Qalysha Safira binti Muhamad Kamil from Form 4 Zamrud remarked, “This event helped me learn about safety and security. The RIASEC test was useful in determining my interests and pathway after SPM.” SMK Pantai Remis Counsellor Mr Ng Guan Song expressed his appreciation, stating that the sessions provided students with essential knowledge and clarity for their future.
By bringing together engaging workshops, experienced facilitators, and interactive activities, CFS Kampar Campus successfully empowered students with skills and knowledge that will benefit them beyond the classroom.
