UTAR secures ISO 9001:2015 recertification following successful SIRIM Recertification Audit 2025

UTAR has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to quality and excellence by successfully completing the SIRIM ISO 9001:2015 recertification audit. Conducted from 17 to 18 February 2025 at UTAR Sungai Long Campus, the rigorous evaluation reaffirmed UTAR’s adherence to international quality management standards, culminating in the recommendation for certification renewal for another three years​​.

The audit was led by SIRIM’s Audit Team Leader, Pn Maznah binti Mat Isa, auditor, Pn Siti Rahmah binti Ahmad, and En Muhammad Nazmie Bin Mat Nasir who meticulously assessed UTAR’s Quality Management System (QMS) across various key areas. The process included a comprehensive review of the medical and health sciences educational services for undergraduate programmes, the financial management services, performance evaluation, internal audit procedures, resource management, customer feedback mechanism and others.

The opening meeting featured a warm welcome by UTAR Vice President (Internationalisation and Academic Development), Ir Prof Dr Goi Bok Min, followed by an insightful briefing by Dean of Academic Quality Assurance and Audit, Ir Prof Dr Rajkumar Durairaj. Both reaffirmed UTAR’s dedication to maintaining high standards in education, financial and administrative processes. The audit team also engaged in extensive discussions with top management, department heads, and key stakeholders to ensure a thorough evaluation​.

Following two days of in-depth assessment, the audit team presented its findings during the closing meeting. The auditors found no non-conformities and officially recommended the renewal of UTAR’s ISO 9001:2015 certification for another three years​.

This milestone reaffirms UTAR’s position as a higher education institution that prioritises quality assurance, accountability, and operational excellence. The University remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that students, staff, and stakeholders benefit from a well-structured and efficiently managed learning environment.
