UTAR Media Scholarships: Empowering Futures Through Education

Three outstanding UTAR students were recently awarded the prestigious UTAR Media Scholarships, namely the UTAR-The Star Education Fund and UTAR-Sin Chew Daily Education Fund. The scholarships stem from a collaboration between UTAR and leading media organisations, Star Media Group Berhad and Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad.

The recipients of the scholarships were Lee En Xin, a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours student who was awarded the UTAR-The Star Education Fund; Hong Thien Gen, a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) Communications and Networking student who received the UTAR-Sin Chew Daily Education Fund; and Tan Jia Sheng, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Actuarial Science student who was also awarded the UTAR-Sin Chew Daily Education Fund.

Designed to support academically gifted students in financial need, the scholarships covered full tuition fees for the three recipients, easing their financial challenges and enabling them to focus entirely on their studies. This initiative reflects UTAR’s unwavering commitment to making quality education accessible to all deserving students.

At the 2024 scholarship award ceremony, organised by Star Media Group Berhad and Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad, the recipients conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for the invaluable opportunity.
