Datuk Koong Lin Loong shares insights on Malaysia’s Economic Outlook 2025 at UTAR

The Teh Hong Piow Faculty of Business and Finance (THP FBF) had the privilege of hosting Datuk Koong Lin Loong, Managing Partner of Reanda LLKG International PLT, for a guest lecture on 13 March 2025 at UTAR Kampar Campus. Accompanied by Datin Bigi Neoh, Senior Partner of Reanda LLKG International PLT, Datuk Koong delivered an insightful session on Malaysia’s Economic Outlook 2025: Challenges & Opportunities.

The lecture provided an in-depth analysis of Malaysia’s economic trajectory, covering the current economic landscape, including GDP trends and market conditions, as well as the investment climate, assessing domestic and foreign investment trends and their impact on economic growth. It  examined challenges and opportunities, highlighting economic hurdles, emerging markets, and potential growth sectors. Additionally, he explored future economic strategies, offering policy recommendations and strategic initiatives for sustainable economic development. Datuk Koong also provided valuable insights into Malaysia’s tax reformation, explaining the rationale behind recent policy changes and their implications for businesses and individuals.

The session, attended by second-year Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) students, also welcomed key faculty members, including Dean Assoc Prof Dr Au Yong Hui Nee, Deputy Dean Dr Peter Tan Sin Howe, and Head of the Commerce and Accountancy Department, Dr Sonia Johanthan.

The lecture was highly engaging, offering students a practical perspective on Malaysia’s economic landscape and future challenges. UTAR appreciates the presence of Datuk Koong Lin Loong and Datin Bigi Neoh for sharing their expertise and looks forward to future collaborations.
