The Faculty of Accountancy and Management (FAM), in collaboration with the Global Economics Society (GES), organised an educational visit to Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) on 21 April 2025. The visit aimed to equip students with essential career insights and prepare them for the evolving job market.
The visit began with an introduction to TalentCorp by Graduate & Emerging Talent Vice President II Mr Ardi Gunsuh. Mr Ardi emphasised the importance of early preparation for the job market, noting that today’s employment landscape is increasingly dynamic and competitive. He encouraged students to begin planning their career paths early to enhance their employability. Following the welcome session, GES Advisor Mr Low Choon Wei highlighted the ongoing collaboration between GES and TalentCorp, which began in 2022. He underscored the value of strong industry-academia partnerships in nurturing career-ready graduates.

During the visit, students attended an informative session on Career Roadmap and MyNext Platform, conducted by Graduate & Emerging Talent Senior Associate Mr Azlan Nasrun. He guided students in navigating their career journeys by focusing on self-awareness, market awareness, personal branding, and gaining relevant experience. Mr Azlan also introduced MyNext, a career profiling platform that helps students discover their personality traits, motivations, and behaviours. Additionally, the platform offers access to job vacancies and job-related information, serving as a valuable resource for students exploring career opportunities.

Graduate & Emerging Talent Senior Associate Ms Sophie Ismail shared key strategies for preparing an effective resume and explained the differences between a curriculum vitae (CV) and a resume. She stressed the importance of highlighting academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, work experience, soft skills, technical competencies, and personal qualities in a resume to attract potential employers.

To conclude the visit, students participated in a guided tour of several departments at TalentCorp. This enabled them to understand better the organisation’s roles, functions, and contributions to national talent development initiatives.
